Red Bag

The Red Bag Pathway improves communication between care homes, ambulance staff and hospitals and enhances care for care home residents.

Benefits for care home staff, residents, and hospital staff include:

  • All relevant information in one place
  • Smooth and easy handover to hospital staff
  • It is more efficient
  • Better communication between care homes and hospital staff
  • Better care for the residents

The eRedBag project contains electronic versions of the paper documents included in the Red Bag Scheme. The eRadBag project was initiated in Sutton in 2015, as part of the Enhanced Health in Care Homes Vanguard. Read more about the eRedBag project.
