Community Action Sutton, in partnership with Sutton Council, are offering up to £1,000 for voluntary and community groups who want to run local initiatives to help respond to the cost-of-living crisis. Voluntary or Community Groups could include faith groups, friends of school’s groups and registered charities.
The cost-of-living crisis and bitterly cold weather has made this winter particularly tough on our local communities. Applicants may want to start up a community fridge, set up a warm space or offer free access to a washing machine in their local area. If you have an idea, apply now.
Simon Breeze, Chief Executive Officer of Community Action Sutton, said: “Working with local charities and Sutton Council we identified the need to support the local community’s desire to support one another. The grants are easy to access and can be used creatively. One initiative will be providing a community washing machine to support people struggling with the cost of living to wash and dry their clothes. If you have an idea you think might fit then do get in touch!”
