Natalie Douglas, Deputy Director for Clinical Services for Richmond and Southwest London Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust, and Jenny Freeman, Lead Transformation Manager at NHS South West London, were invited to be on the panel for the categories of Carer of the Year for Home Care and Carer of the Year for Older Peoples’ Care Homes. They joined representatives from the council and voluntary sector who were also on the panel.
The awards, which took a break during the early part of the pandemic, are designed to recognise high quality care within the borough, raise awareness of dignity in care, inspire local care workers and personal assistants to deliver outstanding care and support and reward and recognise staff and teams that make a big difference.
It was really lovely to be invited to be part of the judging panel for these wonderful awards. So often people working in these type of roles go unsung despite doing very difficult jobs. It was a heart-warming afternoon and a real privilege to be part of it.”
