The Healthy Communities Together (HCT) programme aimed to support effective and sustainable partnership working between the Voluntary, Community and Social
Enterprise (VCSE) sector, the National Health Service (NHS), and local
authorities to improve the health and wellbeing of their local population.
Through the programme, five sites (Croydon, Coventry, Gloucestershire,
Leeds, and Plymouth) received three strands of support:
(1) Funding and grant management delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund;
(2) L&OD support delivered by a consultant from The King’s Fund;
(3) Co-designed learning support delivered by The King’s Fund.
The executive summary provides an overview of the key findings from the evaluation commissioned by The National Lottery Community Fund and conducted by Cordis Bright from January 2023 to August 2025.
Accompanying the report are five case studies, one for each Healthy Communities Together (HCT) partnership site. Each case study explores a specific aspect of partnership working, addressing a research question through tailored methods such as interviews and observations.
